League of Legends Mid-Season Streamathon for COVID Relief
With the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational being cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Riot Games has today announced a 48-hour League of Legends stream for COVID-19 relief - titled The Mid-Season Streamathon.
Featuring competitive and exhibition matches from around the globe, The Mid-Season Streamathon will see teams who qualified for the Mid-Season Invitational facing up against community voted teams from their respective regions.
How It Works For OCE
Starting this Saturday, Riot Oceania will be campaigning the community to vote for their favourite players that they want to see compete in the showmatch against Legacy Esports, who finished top of the ladder in split one and would have qualified for the Mid-Season Invitational.
Both this Saturday and next weekend, a variety of show matches will be played on the Legacy Esports Twitch account to determine who will be competing on the OPL All-Stars team come May 30th - the date of the Mid-Season Streamathon. Fans will have the chance to vote for who they want on the OPL All-Stars team, with the top voted players from each role in the second round of show matches going on to form the OPL All-Stars roster.
Mid-Season Streamathon games are set to kick off on May 30, 2020 and will run for 48 hours. Fans are encouraged to donate to the stream, with funds raised going towards not-for-profit organisations.
Oceania has a window of three hours during the 48-hour League of Legends stream - the time and date is provided below:
Legacy vs. OPL All Stars / 12:00PM - 3:00PM AEST / 30-05-2020
